Galway Film Centre
Founded in 1989, Galway Film Centre is a non-profit, members based organisation that operates as a resource centre for both emerging and established filmmakers. We are dedicated to the development of film as an artistic medium in the West of Ireland. To this end, we support filmmakers, community and youth groups through education and training, equipment provision and information. We provide expert training in all aspects of film and television production and offer advice, information, workshops, masterclasses, seminars, equipment hire, short film awards, public screenings, space for members, support, employment opportunities, film advocacy, networking sessions as well as outreach programmes working with local community groups and schools.

Galway City
Galway is a lively harbour city on Ireland’s west coast. It is situated where the River Corrib meets the Atlantic Ocean and has a population of approx 75,530. It received the prestigious UNESCO City of Film designation in 2014 and has a healthy and growing Film & TV industry with over 600 people employed full-time and over 50 production companies. It hosts the annual Galway Film Fleadh in July and is home to the national film agency The Irish Film Board, the Irish language broadcaster, TG4 and Galway Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT) and Huston School of Film, which both teach third level courses in Film.
